The global PTA movement was founded on February 17, 1967 in Washington D.C., establishing structured collaboration between parents and educators.
Colored Parents Congress
The Colored Parents Congress ensured representation of Black parents and teachers before integration into the broader PTA structure.
Historic Merger
On June 22, 1970, two major parent-teacher bodies merged to form a unified national PTA structure.
Nigeria National Congress
The Nigerian chapter held its first National Congress in April 1994 in Lagos, marking structured national coordination.
NAPTAN Registration
NAPTAN was officially registered in June 1996, establishing a formal national structure across Nigeria.
New Leadership Era
A new leadership phase began, expanding state coordination and strengthening advocacy nationwide.
Transformational Leadership
A modernization era focused on digital coordination, administrative reforms, and nationwide strengthening of PTA activities.
